Say N' Play Summer Speech Camp

Ages 3–14 · Full day

Speech camp running since 1999, led exclusively by licensed speech-language pathologists, for children ages 3-14 with speech and language delays, autism or other developmental delays that affect communication. Children with minimal aggressive or self-injurious behavior are the intended participants. The day has about 6 hours of speech and language stimulation, including individual or small group speech therapy three times a week for 30 minutes, weekly themes, field trips and community outings, and a focus on friendship skills. Staff-to-child ratio is 1:4, 1:2 or 1:1 depending on each child's needs, with high school and college volunteer Speech Buddies in addition. The 2026 program ran June 15 to July 24 in two 3-week sessions. Staff provide services in English, Spanish, Japanese, Farsi, Malayalam, Hindi and sign language. The center is a Lanterman Regional Center vendor for camping services.

About LA Speech & Language Therapy Center, Inc.

Founded in 1979 by Pamela Wiley, Ph.D., the center provides speech and language therapy and related programs to children with autism spectrum disorder and other communication needs, from toddlers through adulthood. Its nonprofit partner is the Wiley Center for Speech and Language Development. Headquarters is in Culver City, with other centers at 4560 W. Slauson Ave., Los Angeles 90043; 1531 S. Long Beach Blvd., Compton 90221; and 15342 Hawthorne Blvd. #102, Lawndale 90260. Other programs include early intervention, a therapeutic preschool (WASL), social skills, Drama Kings and Queens, the Say N' Play summer camp, and employment readiness for young adults.
