Adaptive Aquatics swim lessons
Adaptive swim lessons for children with physical, sensory or developmental challenges, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy. Each swimmer gets an individualized lesson plan built with the family around their abilities, goals and pace, covering water safety and foundational swimming skills. Instructors are SafeSplash Certified Adaptive Aquatics instructors. Adaptive Swim Levels is a flexible three-level framework. The Therapeutic Aquatic Program (T.A.P.) is for swimmers with muscular challenges or limited head control and uses buoyancy and hydrostatic pressure, with a caregiver or therapist supporting. Families start with an online questionnaire, then an on-site orientation at Torrance (Del Amo) to set the plan. Private lessons are recommended for safety and tailored instruction. SafeSplash does not give tuition support directly but partners with organizations that may help.
