Speech and language therapy

Up to age 21

Individualized speech and language therapy, evaluations and consultations led by Bernadette Rivera, M.A., CCC-SLP, whose specialty is children with autism, developmental delays, learning disabilities, apraxia, sensory processing issues and social and emotional language disorders. Therapy covers late talkers, expressive and receptive language, articulation, apraxia and oral-motor work, stuttering, feeding and orofacial myology, auditory processing, social pragmatics, and literacy. Her approach blends DIR Floortime, contextual learning, AAC and technology, with training in PROMPT, Hanen programs, TalkTools, Kaufman protocol and Social Thinking. Sessions happen in the Torrance office or in the child's home, daycare or school, by appointment, serving Torrance, Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach. A free initial consultation is offered. Paid through school districts and Harbor Regional Center, or self-pay with a monthly invoice for out-of-network reimbursement.
