Junior Lifeguard Program

Ages 9–17 · Half day

Classes run 8:30 to 11:30 am or 1:30 to 4:30 pm. Some beaches do not offer afternoon classes or the second session. New junior lifeguards must pass a 100-yard swim test; new-applicant information is posted each January and February, and returning junior lifeguards register between February and March. Locations run in the ocean at the beaches listed; Avalon on Catalina is not shown.
