Summer Climbing Camps (Los Angeles area)

Sports camp · Ages 7–12 · Half day

Camps are for ages 7 to 12, with 3 to 4 hours of instruction a day; rope gyms teach belaying. No experience needed. Campers are not supervised outside camp hours, and camps can be canceled with 7 days' notice if too few sign up. Summer 2027 weeks are not posted yet.

After School Climbing Camps (Los Angeles area)

Sports camp · Ages 7–12 · Half day

Fall camps run August to December (registration opened June 1) and winter/spring camps run January to May (registration opens September 1). Rope gyms teach belaying. Session days and times are listed on each gym's booking page. Access to Climbing discounts are available for families on government assistance.

Youth Club Team (Los Angeles area)

Sports program · Ages 7+ · $175/month

Climbers need at least one climbing camp or three months of climbing in the past year, and entry is by coach assessment with a wait list. Dues are $175 a month plus a $50 initiation fee. Verdigo Boulders runs one Youth & Kids Club for ages 8 to 18, and Class 5 starts Kids Club at 8. The Post lists days but not times. Team Touchstone (Development, Training and Competition) practices at Cliffs of Id and The Post.

Bouldering gym and group events

Party venue · Ages 6–17 · $30–$35/visit

Verdigo Boulders is Touchstone Climbing's bouldering gym at 266 E. Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank. It has more than 160 boulder problems on 15-foot walls and 7,000 square feet of bouldering terrain, and it is bouldering only, with no ropes or belaying. Kids ages 6 and up can join skill-based youth teams, and the gym also lists youth programs and youth camps. The site recommends a private lesson for a first climb. Hours are Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Day passes are $30 before 3 p.m. on weekdays and $35 after, and kids 12 and under get a $30 day pass. Family memberships make children 0 to 12 free, and children 13 to 17 are $110 a month. An individual membership is $120 a month plus a $100 initiation fee, and a 10-visit pass is $300.
