Autism Genetics Clinic
Genetic evaluation and clinical management for people who already carry a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder or a related neurodevelopmental diagnosis. Pediatric and adult patients are seen, so this record describes the children's side. A geneticist and a genetic counselor see each family. A new-patient visit includes a complete health history, a physical exam, genetic counseling and genetic testing if indicated, and the patient must attend in person for the exam. The clinic does not diagnose autism; families looking for a diagnosis are pointed to UCLA's Child and Adult Neurodevelopmental (CAN) Clinic or to developmental behavioral pediatrics.
