Orton-Gillingham Reading Tutoring
Private one-on-one reading tutoring built on the Orton-Gillingham approach, which teaches phonemic awareness, phonics and spelling explicitly and in sequence. Tutors tailor each session to the child's skills and interests and move on only once a skill is mastered, using decodable texts, word activities, spelling drills, writing and games. It serves struggling readers and children with dyslexia, and students in private, public, charter and home schools. In-person tutoring is offered in Los Angeles-area cities including Torrance and Palos Verdes, and online sessions are available to families anywhere. In-person tutors teach only in person, and online tutors only online. Rates and availability are discussed in a free phone consultation, and a free dyslexia screener is on the site.
