Early intervention speech and occupational therapy
Early Start special therapy vendor for Harbor Regional Center, with speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists who see children from infancy; the pages state no minimum age. Speech therapy covers articulation, language, fluency, voice, social communication, feeding and AAC, with AAC specialists on site. Occupational therapy covers fine motor skills, sensory processing and daily living skills, and some therapists hold training in DIR/Floortime, the Alert Program, Zones of Regulation and feeding. Sessions are play-based, begin with an evaluation, and include coaching so parents can use strategies at home. SLEA is in-network with most insurance plans, and offers private-pay contracts that need no physician referral.
