ABA therapy
Applied behavior analysis for children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities, aimed at building language, social, play and daily living skills while reducing challenging behavior. ABI offers early intensive (comprehensive) ABA, typically 25 to 30 hours a week of one-to-one therapy for children under three and 30 to 40 hours for children three and older. It also offers focused ABA, usually 15 hours or less a week, for a limited number of behaviors or skills. For young children, therapy often starts at home or in a center and gradually moves into a preschool or other group setting. Services are delivered at home, at the child's school, at a center, or a combination, and include program design and supervision, parent training and social skills groups. Funding is through Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center, where ABI is a vendor. The agency has served families since 2004 and has offices in Encino and Torrance.
