Improv Classes

Acting and theater class · Ages 6–17 · $427/term

Saturdays at Third Street and Sundays in Studio City. Monthly one-day improv workshops (Fridays 4-6pm at Third Street, $60) are a way to try it first. An advanced improv troupe in Studio City is by audition.

Comedy Sketch Writing

Acting and theater class · Ages 9–16 · $427/term

Ages 9 to 16 write comedy sketches over seven Saturdays and perform them in a show at the end of the session.

Winter Musical: Les Miserables School Edition

Acting and theater class · Ages 6–16 · $1,310–$1,465/term

One three-hour rehearsal a week, on a weekday afternoon or a weekend, at Third Street or Studio City; all shows are at Third Street. Levels run from Primary (ages 6-8) to Master. Tuition includes two show tickets per child. Payment plans available.

Birthday Shows

Party venue · Ages 3–16

YADA (Youth Academy of Dramatic Arts) hosts birthday parties at its Third Street theatre studio in the Fairfax district, where the birthday child and guests perform a mini themed musical or concert show. The parties come in three package tiers. YADA is a youth musical theatre program founded in 1997. Its classes include improv and sketch for ages 3 to 13 and up, a Winnie The Pooh show class for ages 3 to 7, and youth productions such as Les Miserables for ages 6 to 16 and Cabaret for ages 9 to 16. The show is the center of the afternoon, which suits a group of children who like to sing, act and perform rather than play games. The studio is indoors.
