Special needs child care and inclusion programs
A licensed child care center that has served children with developmental and physical disabilities since 1972. Its full-inclusion programs bring special needs and typical children together, ages 5 to 22, and work on cognitive skills, social-emotional development, self-esteem, language, physical development, socialization and life skills. Children served have included those with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, muscular dystrophy, and sight, speech and hearing impairments. Past and current services also include infant intervention, early education, after-school programs, vacation camps and a teen Community Integration program for ages 14 to 22 covering computer skills, grooming and social behavior. Families can also use parenting classes, support groups and family counseling through the Family Resource Center. The center is an approved regional center provider, vendored with Lanterman and South Central Los Angeles Regional Centers.
