ABA behavior health treatment and parent training
Therapy based on Applied Behavior Analysis for children with autism, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, seizure disorder and related special needs, from infancy up, with an infant development program for children at risk of a disability. Services begin with a functional behavior assessment. Direct 1:1 treatment uses structured Discrete Trial Training and naturalistic Pivotal Response Training, with verbal behavior programs, and shifts from clinician-implemented to parent-implemented over time. Parents join assessment and goal-setting and can take a 16-hour Parent Education Group or in-home parent training. Other services include adaptive skills training, social skills groups, school-based behavior shadows, behavior respite and parent seminars. Care happens in the home, at school, in the clinic and in the community across the San Fernando Valley, Antelope Valley, San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles. ACT accepts Medi-Cal and is in-network with commercial health plans; the site also describes adaptive skills services aimed at IPP goals. A free consultation is offered, and the site is available in English and Spanish.
