Zoo Camps

Outdoor and nature camp · Ages 4–15 · Full day

Camps are generally offered over the summer, spring break and holiday break, with dates and registration through the City of Folsom activities calendar. ABC Zoo Camp (ages 4 to 7) is three days of crafts, songs and hands-on time with outreach animals at the Folsom Public Library next to the zoo, with a daily snack and a camp song performance for parents on the last day. Junior Zookeeper (ages 8 to 11) has campers do keeper tasks like cleaning exhibits and preparing diets and make enrichment for the animals. Senior Zookeeper (ages 12 to 15) covers animal behavior, training, health and caregiving, plus conservation.

Birthday Parties on the Canid Deck

Party venue · Up to age 17 · $374/party

Parties are held on the Canid Deck, an open patio with views of the wolf-hybrids and deer, on Saturdays and Sundays except in December, in a morning or afternoon slot. The $374 price ($349 for zoo members) covers two hours, admission for up to 30 guests, tables and chairs, and a coloring activity; extra guests, up to the capacity of 40, are $10 each, and children under two are free. A party host brings an animal visitor for a 15-minute presentation, depending on availability and weather. Families bring their own food, drinks, utensils and decorations, but balloons, confetti, music, glass and alcohol are not allowed. Guests may arrive 30 minutes early to set up. Booking needs 14 days' notice and payment at booking, with a full refund for cancellations 7 days ahead. Rain parties may move to the Barnyard Experience or the Barn.
