Inclusion program for afterschool, summer and school breaks
Woodcraft Rangers runs afterschool, summer and school-break programs on school campuses across greater Los Angeles County for students in TK through 12th grade. Its Inclusion team, launched in partnership with the Department of Developmental Services, aims to give youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities equitable access to those programs. Inclusion Specialists are available on site to provide extra supervision and intervention supports, and specialized trainings give staff awareness and strategies. Inclusion services are also available during Camp Woodcraft, the agency's outdoor education camp in Big Bear Valley, so children can take part in outdoor experiences. Regular afterschool programming includes snack, homework help, physical activity and enrichment in arts, STEM and sports, with 100+ activities offered in 6-week cycles. East Los Angeles Regional Center lists free afterschool and sleepaway camp for Regional Center families through this grant-funded project.
