Summer Dance Camps
Discover Dance Camp introduces ballet, modern, tap, jazz and hip hop to beginning and intermediate dancers. The Youth Ballet Intensive adds pre-pointe, variations and afternoon electives. Teen intensives (ages 12-18) cover modern repertory and tap for film. Summer Saturdays classes start at age 4.

Summer Music Camps and Intensives
Eight camps and intensives ran in June and July 2026. Piano Camp Intensive is for ages 9-13, Guitar Intensive for 10-18, Chamber Music Intensive for 13-18, Los Angeles Brass Institute for 13-22 and the Musical Theatre Intensive for 13-18. Some require an audition.

Children's, Youth and Concert Choirs
Children's Chorus meets 12-12:50pm, Youth Chorus 1-2:30pm and Concert Choir 3-6pm. Applications for 2026-27 closed on September 30, 2026. Scholarships are available.

Youth Orchestras and String Ensembles
String Ensemble (5th grade, age 10+) meets Wednesdays 6-6:50pm and String Orchestra (6th grade, age 11+) Wednesdays 7-8:30pm. The three advanced orchestras, for ages 13 and up, rehearse on Saturday afternoon or Sunday. Placement is by audition.

Private Music Lessons
Suzuki instruction is offered on violin, viola, cello and guitar. Lessons are accepted year-round; families submit an inquiry form for placement with a teacher. Scholarships are available.

About Colburn School Community School of Performing Arts
The Colburn School's community division on Grand Avenue downtown, teaching music to students from infants to adults. It runs private lessons, Suzuki and group classes, three children's and youth choirs and a ladder of youth orchestras, with scholarships.
