Mini Dance Camps

Dance camp · Ages 4–7 · Half day

Each summer the studio runs three-week mini dance camps for ages 4 to 7, focused on ballet and lyrical technique. Camps meet Tuesdays and Thursdays for 45 to 60 minute sessions in the afternoon, with separate groups for ages 4-5 and ages 6-7 in July and August. They suit children learning dance for the first time as well as those building skills. The 2026 camps have ended and dates for next summer are not yet posted. The studio also runs drop-in summer classes for ages 10 and up and offers an Unlimited Summer Dance Pass. Camps are held at the Village Homes studio on the east side of Davis.

Youth Dance Classes

Dance class · Ages 3+

Applegate offers youth dance classes for ages 3 and up, with ballet at the center. Fall 2026 classes include Creative Movement for 3 and 4 year olds on Fridays, Pre-Ballet for age 5, and Youth Ballet 1 through 4 for ages 6 to 14, with Youth Ballet 2 to 4 meeting twice a week. Older students can move into Intermediate and Advanced Ballet, Pre-Pointe and Pointe, and Contemporary. Hip hop is also taught. Most youth courses require enrollment for the full session. Teachers adjust each class to individual students, and the technique mixes the Vaganova, Cecchetti and Royal Academy schools. Older kids new to ballet are advised to start in teen and adult classes. Private lessons and a trial class pass are available. Classes are held at the Village Homes studio in Davis.
