ABA therapy (in-home and center-based)

Applied behavior analysis for children and families affected by autism and related disorders, delivered either in the family's home or in a center-based program. Treatment begins with an assessment and is tailored to each client, weaving the child's interests and natural initiations into sessions and rewarding appropriate responses with positive reinforcement. Goals include functional communication, language, fine and gross motor skills, play and social skills, emotional regulation, safety awareness and independent living. The center offers social skills groups and counseling, with classroom, small group and one-on-one instruction, and spaces such as classrooms, a library, gym and sensory room. The team works with families and caregivers, and may include speech therapists, occupational therapists and special educators. A free consultation is offered. Funding is through North Los Angeles County Regional Center.
