Therapeutic/Adaptive Horsemanship
Therapeutic and adaptive horsemanship at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank. The 45-minute private session ($155) is led by a certified riding instructor with up to three assistants as needed, and mixes mounted and non-mounted activities. The 45-minute Brush and Breathe class ($49) is non-mounted, with quiet time grooming the horses. Sessions go ahead in any weather: an air-conditioned and heated indoor classroom with an exercise horse, plus barn activities, are used in heat or rain. To start, families submit a release of liability, a physician's statement completed by a medical professional, and a client availability form, then create an online account, pay, and schedule sessions online. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice. The site gives families guides to the Lanterman Act.

About Star Horses
Star Horses is a P.A.T.H. certified therapeutic horseback riding nonprofit located at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank. Its mission is to support the physical, emotional and social well-being of individuals through adaptive horseback riding and equine-assisted services, while widening access to equestrian experiences for youth in the community. It was started by Tori English, Dr. Sharon Furman and Jaime Capone, and its team includes P.A.T.H. instructors.
