After-School Program

Carousel's After-School Program serves children ages 5 to 18 at two Los Angeles locations: the Carousel Non-Public School at 7899 La Tijera Blvd and the Sophia T. Salvin Special Education Center at 1925 S. Budlong Ave. At La Tijera it runs 2:00 to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday. The curriculum balances social and recreational activities to support physical, social, emotional and creative development, with arts and crafts, story time and discussion, music and movement, weekly cold cooking, and outdoor sports such as basketball, softball, soccer and relay races. Staff are teachers and assistants. Both locations offer extended hours during spring break, summer break and one week in January. Contact Gina Prato at (310) 645-9222 ext. 104.

Carousel Infant Center is a state-licensed Infant Center at 7899 La Tijera Boulevard, Suite 100, in Westchester, Los Angeles 90045. Occupational, physical and speech therapy

Occupational therapy · Up to age 21

Therapeutic services at Carousel School's La Tijera campus include occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language therapy, counseling and specially designed physical education for children with disabilities. The occupational therapists provide individual, consultative, clinic and classroom-based services, working with teachers and parents to design programs for clinic, school and home, and give families resources to continue skill-building at home. Carousel is on the state's certified nonpublic school list, so school districts place students through their IEPs, and it is vendored with Lanterman and South Central Los Angeles regional centers.
