Early intervention (birth to 3)

Up to age 3

Early Start early intervention for children from birth to 3 years, delivered by a multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, their assistants, and early intervention specialists. Sessions are play based and family centered, working on motor development, communication, language, behavior and emotional regulation, and daily routines. Therapy takes place in the child's natural environment, whether home, daycare, a park or library, and also in the company's therapy center. A child development specialist evaluates the child to see whether the delay qualifies, and an IFSP is then written with the service coordinator and family. Services are funded through the regional center (Harbor Regional Center vendor). The team is mostly bilingual in Spanish and English and integrates the family's culture into sessions. Scheduling is flexible, and the company holds free community events such as holiday parties and a summer picnic for enrolled families.
