The Nurtury Preschool
The Nurtury Preschool is a non-profit preschool and kindergarten at 14401 Dickens Street in Sherman Oaks, founded in 1975 for working parents. It takes children from 24 months through age 6 in a developmentally appropriate, play-based program, and its full-day kindergarten adds language arts, math, science, art and music. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45am to 5:45pm, with the school closed the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. The federal survey for 2023–24 counts eight students and about 2.6 teachers, and kindergarten has at most 14 children. Tuition is not posted, but need-based scholarships are available with an application and a recent tax return. Places usually come from a waitlist in application order, with siblings first. Children do not have to be potty trained. The school does not serve nuts.
