Movement-Based Awareness Training (neurodivergent program)

A movement-based class for children who benefit from support with focus, social interaction, coordination and confidence. Developed by UCLA Professor Edward Monaghan after 20 years working with people diagnosed with ASD, ADHD and behavioral disorders, it has five parts: attention training, stress management, balance and body control, socialization, and self-defense, including how to handle bullies verbally. Groups are small (4-6 students) with predictable routines, a consistent class structure, sensory-aware pacing and patient instructors. Private one-on-one sessions are available; for children with an ASD diagnosis these may be fully funded through North Los Angeles County Regional Center. The center has experience with families using self-determination and specialized support programs. New small groups are forming with limited availability, and families start with an introductory session.

Ekata Training Center School-Age Day Care

School-age care · Ages 5–12

Ekata Training Center operates a state-licensed school-age day care center at 27831 Smyth Drive in Valencia, licensed since November 2016. It is licensed for up to 30 children of school age. The Shin's Family Martial Art Ctr, licensed for 80 children, is at 27935 Smyth Drive, on the same street.
