Pediatric occupational therapy
Pediatric occupational therapy in San Gabriel for children whose sensory, motor or self-care challenges affect home, school or play. It addresses fine motor coordination, sensory processing, dressing and feeding, visual-motor skills, handwriting, motor planning, balance and coordination, and regulation during transitions. An OT evaluation comes first, then activity-based goals practiced through play such as obstacle courses, balance challenges and building tasks. Parents may attend sessions to learn strategies for dressing, meals, morning routines and sensory breaks, and the therapist collaborates with teachers when appropriate. The practice is vendored with Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center and also offers speech therapy, which can be coordinated with OT.
