Alta Vista Elementary (K-5)

Ages 5–11 · Free

Alta Vista Elementary is a traditional public elementary school for kindergarten through fifth grade at 815 Knob Hill Avenue in Redondo Beach, part of the Redondo Beach Unified School District. Children from about five to eleven years old attend in classes organized by grade, with a standard curriculum rather than an immersion or magnet program. The school runs After School Programs and After School Enrichment, plus a Child Development Center for younger children's care, clubs and activities, the Battle of the Books team and the Wildcat Coaches group. Students who are still learning English are served by an English Language Development program, and the school has a Wellness Council and a Special Programs office. Tuition is free, and enrollment follows the home address for the attendance area. The district calendar, with dates such as no-school days and Thanksgiving break, is posted online.
