Mental health services for youth with developmental disabilities

Ages 3+

A non-profit, community-based mental health clinic that treats children, adolescents and young adults ages 3 to 25 who face developmental disabilities and mental health challenges, and supports their families. It grew out of a school founded in 1977 for autistic and developmentally disabled students. Treatment aims to build the skills and behaviors that support daily life, and parents and caregivers are treated as an essential part of the treatment team. Stated goals include reducing symptoms, improving emotional, social and academic functioning, strengthening parenting skills and family unity, and connecting families to medical, educational, recreational and other community services, serving each youth in the least restrictive setting possible. Tobinworld is a contract provider for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, offering Medi-Cal services. Sessions are available in person at the Pasadena office or by telehealth (Zoom or FaceTime); in-person visits are scheduled through administrative staff.
