Sunsational Swim School

Private in-home special needs swim lessons

Up to age 21 · $100/session

Private one-on-one swim lessons taught by an instructor who comes to the family's own pool or a community pool, so there is no driving to a crowded swim school and no group class. Families register online, say what the child needs, and are matched with an instructor based on location, schedule and preferences. Lessons are scheduled around the family's availability, and the company teaches water safety skills first. A special needs swim lessons service is offered for kids with autism, ADHD and Down syndrome. The company's Learn to Swim Guarantee does not cover students with special needs. Child lessons run 30 or 45 minutes. Packages of 6, 12 or 18 lessons cost $90 to $120 per lesson depending on length and package size, plus a $20 annual registration fee per student. Instructors are background-checked and CPR-certified. Swimmers can start as early as 6 months.
