Inclusive recreation classes

Up to age 21

Recreation classes run by the City of Malibu and specifically adapted and modified for people with physical, cognitive and developmental disabilities, and for those who benefit from additional accommodations in a recreational setting. Programs are designed for youth and adults together. The fall lineup includes Dance & Connect on Mondays at Malibu Bluffs Park, Joy of Coloring on Wednesdays at Malibu Bluffs Park, Sensory Swim on Wednesdays at the Malibu Community Pool, and Film Screen Fridays at Malibu City Hall. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to stay with participants to assist staff. Pre-registration is required because spaces are limited, and is done online at MalibuCity.org/Register. The city's Community Services Department notes that limited financial aid, prioritized by need, may be available.

Inclusive Recreation is a program of the City of Malibu Community Services Department (formerly Parks and Recreation). It offers recreational classes and activities for youth and adults with disabilities and diverse backgrounds, aiming to remove barriers to participation and promote social connection. Recreation Coordinator Joie Cosentino leads the program.
