Six party packages run inside the storybook park. Four are hosted: Royal Party (90 minutes, up to 25 guests), Green Thumb (60 minutes, up to 30), Enchanted Garden (90 minutes, up to 30) and Pirate Party (90 minutes, up to 30). Two are no-host rentals: Sherwood Forest (90 minutes, up to 40 guests) and Pooh Corner (60 minutes, up to 30). Every package includes unlimited park playtime before and after the party, a birthday t-shirt and button, the child's name on the castle marquee, two free passes for a later visit and downloadable themed invitations. Reservations are made online and must be made at least two weeks ahead; closer dates go through the party line at (916) 808-7062. Prices are not listed on the page.

Fairytale Town Storybook Park

Park · Up to age 12

A 3.5-acre play park and outdoor children's museum in William Land Park, open since 1959. More than 25 colorful play sets let young children act out fairytales and nursery rhymes, with slides, Jack's Beanstalk, Cinderella's carriage, Robin Hood's Sherwood Forest play fort and the Crooked Mile. Children can meet barnyard animals, help water seasonal vegetable beds and watch theater, puppet shows and story time. It is open daily 9am to 4pm from March to October and Thursday to Sunday 10am to 4pm from November to February. Annual memberships give free admission and park discounts, and children with special needs and children of active-duty military visit free.
