Los Angeles High School of the Arts (9–12)
Los Angeles High School of the Arts is a tuition-free public high school for grades 9 through 12 in the Los Angeles Unified School District, at 701 South Catalina Street in Koreatown. The school describes an arts-based curriculum that prepares students for college and for careers in theater arts and entertainment, and its productions and theatre events include performances at the Cocoanut Grove Theatre. It was founded in 1998 as a small learning community on the Belmont High School campus, became a pilot school in 2007 and joined the RFK Community Schools in 2010. Campus facilities include the Paul Schrade Library and a UCLA Legal Clinic. The school lists Linked Learning, Senior Defense and a RICH STEAM curriculum, and it is part of a Zone of Choice. It reported 100% compliance with A-G course requirements, an 81% graduation rate and 27% AP course enrollment for the Class of 2019.
