ABA therapy (home, center and school based)
Applied behavior analysis for children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities, aimed at building language, social, play and daily living skills while reducing challenging behavior. Two models are offered: early intensive (comprehensive) ABA, typically 25 to 30 hours a week of one-to-one therapy for children under three and 30 to 40 hours for age three and up, and focused ABA, typically 15 hours or less a week, for a limited set of behaviors or skills. For children under five, an intensive program often starts at home or in the clinic and gradually moves into a preschool or other group setting. Services can happen at home, at the center, at the child's school, or a combination, and include program design and supervision, parent training and social skills groups. Funding is through regional centers (Harbor, Lanterman, North Los Angeles County) and school districts as a certified nonpublic agency.
