Kids karate and private lessons for kids with special needs

American Kenpo karate classes for children: Mighty Tigers for ages 4 to 6 (half-hour classes focused on karate basics, group work and sportsmanship) and Kids Classes for roughly ages 6 to 13, run at about 1 instructor to 6 students and built on a belt system with a progress card. Families who say their child is not ready for a group class are pointed to private lessons, taught by instructors trained in special needs instruction, including sensory disorders, developmental disabilities and autism. The studio is vendored with Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center. A one-month intro costs $99 and includes a private lesson, a uniform and unlimited group classes; a free 2-class trial is offered for 4-year-olds. Friday Open Mat lets parents and kids train together. Adults are taught too, in separate classes. Full class times are on the studio's schedule page, with classes in the dojo and on Zoom.
