Speech and language therapy

Up to age 21

Speech-language assessment and therapy in English and Spanish, with a focus on early intervention and pediatrics (adults are seen too). Birth-to-three therapy happens through play and floor time with parent training; school-age therapy uses language games, music, art and apps. Areas include apraxia, articulation and phonology, stuttering, AAC, oral motor and feeding or swallowing, autism, pragmatic and social language, auditory processing and cleft lip/palate. Therapists are trained in PROMPT, PECS, Floor Time and Hanen; Norma Lopez, M.S., CCC-SLP leads the Hanen "It Takes Two to Talk" parent group. Assessments take 1 to 1.5 hours and can be private, insurance, bilingual, school district (IEE) or regional center. Sessions are typically 30 minutes with parents encouraged to take part. Accepts PPO plans and regional center funding; telehealth is available. Clinics in Covina, Arcadia, South Pasadena and Burbank.
