The Vida School
The Vida School is a progressive, nature-rooted private school in Agoura Hills that opened in September 2021. It serves transitional kindergarten through sixth grade and says it is expanding into middle school. Its approach combines social-emotional learning, outdoor learning, project-based learning and personalized academic rigor, with music, movement and creative work. The federal private school survey for 2023–24 counted 61 students and 8.1 teachers, about eight students per teacher. The school's website says it moved to the historic Cornell Schoolhouse in 2023, in the Santa Monica Mountains. Families book a tour on select days through an online form, then apply, and the school says space is intentionally limited. It is nonsectarian, so it suits families who want a small, nature-focused private elementary school.
