## Inclusive preschool program

Preschool · Ages 3–4

A preschool inclusion program for children ages 3 to 4 who are eligible for special education, offering multidisciplinary support within a general education classroom. It is a California Department of Education certified Nonpublic Agency that contracts with LAUSD, and it operates at the CSUN Child and Family Studies Center, which is NAEYC accredited and licensed by the California Department of Social Services. Interventions and therapies are built into typical early childhood classroom activities, with an emphasis on practicing natural social and communication skills with peers, individualized instruction and planned classroom modifications. Tours and information are available through the early education office.

## Infant and Toddler early intervention program

Early intervention · Up to age 3

Early intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to 36 months who are at risk for or have developmental delays, running since 1991. Families choose among three options and can switch as needs change, space permitting: a center-based program for ages 12 to 36 months where a parent or caregiver joins the classroom typically twice a week, with up to one home visit a month; a weekly home visit program with an early intervention specialist; or a childcare intervention program that brings services into the community childcare the child attends. A team of an early intervention specialist, speech and language pathologist, physical therapist and occupational therapist plans each child's program using trans-disciplinary assessment, weekly team meetings and frequent progress observations. Play and time with children without disabilities are emphasized. Spanish-speaking staff are on the team.
