## ABA therapy and parent training

Up to age 21

Applied behavior analysis for children with autism and related developmental disorders, with parent involvement built into every treatment plan. Services include intensive ABA with parent training, functional behavior assessments, discrete trial training paired with natural environment training, adaptive skills training for leisure, social and self-help skills at home and in the community, in-home parent training, and Parent Education Group instruction. Methods named include reinforcement, prompting, Social Stories and PECS. Programs are individualized around communication, self-help and social skills. Supervisors and direct therapists work together, and therapy sessions are offered 7 days a week. The North Los Angeles County Regional Center lists BEST as a vendor, so families in that regional center can use regional center funding. Families enroll through an online form that asks about diagnosis, regional center status and primary language (English, Spanish or other); staff then follow up to guide the first steps.
