## Infant and toddler early intervention classroom

Up to age 5

A classroom-based early intervention program at UCLA for young children and their families. A transdisciplinary team builds a classroom plan tailored to each child's needs. The approach is play-based, child-directed, strengths-focused and parent-friendly, with ongoing support, guidance and information for each family. The school day follows a routine of opening circle, free play, snack, an activity such as cooking, art or sensory play, potty practice, outside play, lunch and closing circle. Children and parents join the circle times, and snack and lunch are used to practice feeding and self-help skills, with adaptive plates and utensils possible. It has play yards and offers tours; the program is listed as an Infant Development Program vendor of Harbor Regional Center, which funds services for eligible families.
