## One-on-one ABA therapy and parent training

Up to age 21

Board Certified Behavior Analysts begin with an initial assessment (questionnaires, interviews and direct assessment across communication and social domains) and then write an individualized program for each child, with a focus on promoting verbal behavior. Behavior technicians work 1:1 with the child on those goals, at a 1:1 technician-to-child ratio, and weekly hours are set from the assessment findings. Methods named are Discrete Trial Training, Pivotal Response Training and Natural Environment Teaching; part of the time goes to table work on skills such as receptive language, imitation and requesting, and a larger portion goes to natural-environment teaching for social and group skills. Parents are trained by a supervisor or BCBA through modeling and role play. Services are offered in-home, in the community and via telehealth. Most health insurance plans are accepted, and private pay is also available. The process starts with a diagnosis from the child's doctor, then a call to the office.
