## Preschool Collaborative Class (special education preschool)

Ages 3–5

Preschool Collaborative Class (PCC) at the 102nd Street Early Education Center, for children enrolled in the Early Education Center and children with moderate to severe needs who are eligible for special education. Ten children eligible for special education join the Early Education Center preschoolers each morning, fully integrated, for 6.5 hours Monday to Friday (4.5 hours on Tuesdays). Staff include Early Education Center personnel, an early childhood special education teacher and a special education assistant. The program follows the district-adopted preschool curriculum and works toward each child's goals and objectives through developmentally appropriate, concrete, play-based experiences, with other special education support added when needed. Children with special needs may meet the regular center eligibility requirements, but it is not required. Children stay until they turn 5 and move to kindergarten.
