## Pediatric occupational therapy and DIR Floortime

Up to age 21

One-to-one pediatric occupational therapy guided by DIR/Floortime principles, where sessions use play to build the skills a child needs. Areas addressed include handwriting and pre-writing, fine motor coordination, self-care such as dressing and tooth brushing, gross motor skills, sensory processing, regulation and transitions, and executive functioning. Open to children of all developmental levels, with caregivers as partners in practicing skills during family routines. Therapist Jackie Bresnahan, MS, OTR/L, is an ICDL DIR Floortime practitioner trained in sensory integration coursework (CLASI) and Handwriting Without Tears. Families start with a free 15-minute consultation, then an evaluation. The practice is out of network with all insurance, and gives a superbill on request. It accepts Regional Center Self-Determination Program funding through a Financial Management Service, and is on the Harbor Regional Center provider list. Serves Torrance and the South Bay.

## Feeding therapy

Ages 2+

Evaluation and treatment of feeding difficulties for children ages 2 and up, including significant picky eating, trouble trying new foods, managing textures, oral motor delays and participating in mealtimes. Rooted in DIR Floortime principles and informed by the play-based, child-led SOS Approach to Feeding, so activities start within the child's comfort zone. Parent participation is encouraged so strategies carry over to meals at home. Therapist Jackie Bresnahan holds California Board Certification in Feeding and Swallowing and is trained in the SOS and Get Permission approaches. The practice does not provide breast or bottle feeding intervention. It is out of network with insurance, provides superbills on request, and starts with a free 15-minute consultation. Serves Torrance and the South Bay.
