## Autism and developmental evaluation with medical care

Ages 1–17

Cortica's first step is a Clinical Intake Visit: specialists listen to the child's story, complete a developmental and medical review, and give the family a roadmap for care. Pediatricians, pediatric neurologists and nurse practitioners evaluate for autism, ADHD, developmental delay and other developmental differences, using standardized tools such as the ADOS, ADI-R, CARS and Vineland. A diagnosis is not needed beforehand. Medical care covers conditions that often accompany autism, such as seizures, sleep problems, GI symptoms and anxiety, with genetic and metabolic testing, EEG, nutrition evaluation and medication management. Cortica serves children from 18 months through age 17, and is in-network with many major insurance plans. Its team checks benefits and gives a cost estimate before care begins, and self-pay is available if a plan is not in-network.

## ABA therapy and Jumpstart early intervention

Ages 1–17

Cortica's ABA is play-based and naturalistic, built around positive relationships, with goals tailored to each child and family. It begins with a BCBA assessment over about two weeks, then a personalized plan, parent coaching and one-to-one sessions with a behavior technician. Options include one-to-one ABA in-home, in-center or in the community, group ABA, parent coaching, and social skills groups for preteens and teens. Jumpstart is an intensive center-based group program for young children with autism (about 15-20 hours a week, full- and half-day options) that blends ABA, speech and occupational therapy and prepares children for mainstream kindergarten. Children need an ABA assessment first. Speech, occupational, physical and music therapy are also offered. Billed through insurance. ABA ages 18 months to 17.
