## Buddy Building summer camp

Special needs camp · Ages 8–15

Buddy Building Camp is a four-week day program for twice-exceptional (2e) children and young adolescents, primarily highly gifted kids with learning and behavioral challenges such as high-functioning autism or Asperger's, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, emotional or learning disabilities, PDD and speech/language disabilities. Campers ages 8 to 15 practice self-awareness, team-building, sportsmanship, conflict resolution and cooperative play through sports, art and nature activities, spending as much time as possible outdoors working with animals at Dr. Lesli's ranch in Agoura Hills. Community skills are practiced on museum visits, scavenger hunts and field trips. A reward system of Buddy Bucks is used. Summer 2026 ran June 15 to July 10, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A consultation with Dr. Preuss is required before new campers are accepted.
