## Speech-language assessment and treatment

Up to age 12

Speech-language pathology for infants, toddlers and young children, using naturalistic, play-based, relationship-based methods. Assessment comes in three levels: a one-hour consult (for children under 15 months, children already in treatment, or families wanting home strategies), a two-hour standard assessment with a written report of about 5-7 pages, and a deep assessment over 2-3 weeks for young elementary-age children, including school observation and a 10-20 page report. Individual treatment addresses speech sound production and oral-motor coordination, phonology, auditory processing, language comprehension and expression, and social communication, and parents are encouraged to join every session. Social communication groups run as peer-to-peer pairs or groups of 3-4 for established clients, with Think Social for older elementary children. Funded through Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center vendorization.

## Social communication groups

Ages 3–12

Social communication groups are offered in a peer-to-peer format or in small groups of 3-4 children for established clients. Preschool and early school-age groups build social competencies through social-emotional milestones in child-to-child relationships. Groups for older elementary-age children blend those principles with the Think Social curriculum created by speech-language pathologist Michele Garcia Winner. The groups are run by a speech-language pathology practice in South Pasadena that is vendored with Lanterman Regional Center.
