The Santa Monica Pier Carousel is a historic carousel in the Hippodrome on the Santa Monica Pier, at 200 Santa Monica Pier. Birthday parties use a roped-off party area on the carousel, with unlimited rides for up to 30 kids, so the whole group can ride together during the party. Regular rides cost $3 per rider, and children 3 and under ride free with a ticketed adult. The carousel is open Monday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and it is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays except the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Wednesday after Christmas. Its ADA-accessible chariot has a portable ramp, and staff at the ticket booth can help riders who need it.
