## Therapeutic Preschool and Day Treatment

Ages 2–5

A multidisciplinary day treatment program for children ages 2½ through 5 who need early intervention for neurological, behavioral or psychological difficulties, such as prenatal substance exposure, oppositional behavior, ADHD, depression or anxiety, post-traumatic stress, abuse and neglect, or reactive attachment disorder. The program meets every weekday in groups of up to 10 children, supervised by two or more specially trained staff at a 5:1 child-to-staff ratio. Children can stay with the same staff for up to two years, and the approach is attachment-based. A team that may include psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, family therapists, early education and early intervention specialists, speech pathologists and occupational therapists builds an individual plan, which may include child and family therapy, parent education and support groups, speech and occupational therapy, medication assessment and transition services. Services may be paid through Medi-Cal, Healthy Families or private payment, and a sliding scale is available to qualified families. Intake is by phone.
