## Child and adolescent psychiatry

Child and adolescent psychiatry with Dr. Brooke Spanos, who is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry. The first visit is a 90-minute comprehensive evaluation, after which she shares her impressions and recommendations, which may include psychotherapy, psychiatric medication, and referrals such as educational evaluation, speech therapy or support groups. Follow-ups run 20 minutes for routine medication management, 40 minutes for child medication management, and 50 minutes for psychotherapy or more complex medication issues. Areas of expertise include ADHD, autism spectrum, anxiety, depression and mood, OCD, tic disorders including Tourette's, behavior problems, grief and loss, learning differences and neurodiversity, adoption and foster care, and effective parenting techniques. She also sees transitional-age youth (16-25) and adults. Visits are in the Santa Monica office or by telehealth. She takes no insurance panels; a monthly superbill is provided for reimbursement and payment is due at the time of service.

She completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, where she was Chief Fellow in 2010-2011, and has been in private practice in Beverly Hills (2011-2019) and Santa Monica (2019-present). She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
