## Regional Center Intake and Early Start

Up to age 21

A state-contracted regional center that is the starting point for services for people with developmental disabilities. Families apply through Early Start intake for children under 3 or Lanterman intake for people 3 and older. Eligibility covers intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder and similar conditions that began before age 18. Infants and toddlers from birth to 36 months may qualify through developmental delay or risk criteria. The center has an Early Childhood unit (birth to 6), a Family and Transition unit (6 to 23), and adult services, plus clinical services, education advocacy, self-determination and deaf and hard of hearing supports. Services are funded through the state system. The Pomona office is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with a phone line staffed 24 hours.

San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center (SG/PRC) is a private, non-profit corporation that works under contract with the State of California Department of Developmental Services to serve people with developmental disabilities under the Lanterman Act. It also serves infants and toddlers from birth to 36 months through the California Early Start program. It serves about 18,900 people across 30 cities and works with more than 4,000 service providers. Its main office is in Pomona, and in May 2026 it opened a second office in Irwindale.
