## Children's mental health and school-based therapy

Up to age 21

Behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and young adults, covering prevention and early intervention through residential treatment. Clients can be referred by a primary care practitioner, their school, the Department of Children and Family Services or the Department of Mental Health, or can self-refer. Education-Based Services place clinicians on campuses in over 50 public schools in Los Angeles and Riverside Counties (including the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, Alhambra, Pasadena and Hacienda-La Puente), offering screening and assessment, individual, family and group therapy, coping, anger-management and conflict-resolution skills, parent counseling, case management and crisis intervention, all year round. Birth to 5 Services provide early intervention in Early Head Start/Head Start centers. Opportunities Classrooms and Educational Support Services work with school districts for students at risk of a more restrictive placement. The agency is on the state's certified nonpublic agency list, so school districts can pay for services through an IEP.
