## Early Start early intervention therapy

Early intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to age three, paid for entirely through California's Early Start program and authorized by the family's regional center, at no cost to families. An interdisciplinary team offers child development therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy. Programs are individualized to the child and family, use a play-based, whole-child approach, and coach caregivers during sessions. Therapy happens in the child's natural environment: home, day care, preschool, parks and the community. There is no public office. The occupational therapy program names autism, cerebral palsy, sensory processing differences, apraxia, birth injuries and feeding difficulties among the needs it serves. The provider works with East Los Angeles, Lanterman, North Los Angeles County, San Gabriel/Pomona and South Central Los Angeles regional centers. Families cannot self-refer. They contact their regional center and can request Every Child Achieves as their provider at intake.
