## Adaptive skills training

Up to age 21

Adaptive Skills Training is designed to help neurodiverse children and adults build independence. It focuses on the skills needed for daily tasks, self-sufficiency and greater community integration. Jay Nolan Community Services serves people with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, and the service is funded through California regional centers: the agency is on the Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center vendor list and also appears on the Lanterman Regional Center list. Services follow a person-centered process: staff learn about the individual's goals through a discovery process with family and others, then write an Individual Support Plan. The agency also offers a private-pay option when government funding is not wanted or available. Deaf and hard of hearing individuals can be supported by staff with ASL skills and in-house ASL interpreters. The agency's Greater Los Angeles office is at 15501 San Fernando Mission Blvd, Suite 200, Mission Hills.
