## Adaptive skills training for teens and young adults

Ages 13+

Adaptive skills training led by an occupational therapist, designed for teens and young adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. The approach is sensory-informed, strengths-based and neurodiversity-affirming. Clients work toward their own goals in self-care, time management, safety awareness, basic household tasks and other practical daily skills. Executive functioning is a focus, including planning, organization, attention, flexible thinking, emotional regulation, task initiation and self-monitoring. Social skill development covers communication, reading social cues and building relationships through structured guidance and real-life scenarios.
